This month NACYML Member Services is partnering with Ministry Training Source (MTS) to offer an online course examining Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord, published by the United States Catholic Council of Bishops in 2005. The publication is available online as a PDF file at the above address in both English and Spanish.
We are very excited about offering this course because it pairs the excellence of MTS with the goals and vision of NACYML: as an organization we are dedicated to strengthening and supporting our members in their ministerial practice and professional development.
Ministry Training Source is a non-profit organization that trains, forms, and educates individuals and organizations to be more effective ministers in the church. Charlotte McCorquodale and Leigh Sterten are the online moderators who assist in the online program. You can find out more by visiting their website.
Earlier this year MTS put your leadership team through a trial run on the Co-Workers course. At first, many of us were a little nervous. It was a busy time of year, some had not been back to school in a while, many had never done any online course work, but in the end, each ‘student’ had a great experience! Sure there were a few new techie terms to learn, but not too many. There was one online group experience, but there were a variety of times to choose from. The discussion was lively and engaging too so the benefits were worth the effort! Yes, I had to find the time to do the readings and questions but the work was really something that challenged me to think deeply, but it was not overwhelming. The best part was doing the work when it fit my schedule (usually 11:30 p.m.).
This is a unique opportunity to continue your education in a way that will fit your learning style and your goals. In the event that you were not able to participate in this course, look for more on-line course offerings in the future!
